Every once in a while we'll take a day off, but otherwise we're usually cramming things in. Tours or sightseeing or whatever...

I wrote a post about travel days and how much they suck, but the days that follow (seeing new things, etc.) always make up for it. It does get tiring after a while though. That's when you hit an island or beach and veg out for a few days.

I can't speak for Alison but I don't ever get tired of seeing new places and things. I've realized that the further removed I am from home the more fun I have, though. We're in KL right now and it's pretty Western in a lot of ways (and Bali was really touristy) and it makes me miss Flores & Sulawesi, where you *knew* you weren't in Kansas anymore. The people are always so much more friendly (and the cultures so different) away from the tourist spots.

I'm not exaggerating though when I say that every day I have a moment or many where I think to myself how freaking great this is. Travel is the greatest thing you can do, I really believe that.Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11472914185419496462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5832880021295749887.post-15467780885365073182008-08-04T17:38:09.873-07:002008-08-04T17:38:09.873-07:00I should think that several of your readers (mysel...I should think that several of your readers (myself included) have never gone on a trip to a foreign country for such an extended period of time. How do you cope with constant travel from destination to destination? Along with that, how do you cope with constantly changing and looking for lodging/food/entertainment/etc? On short trips, it seems like one always has a full schedule and is cramming things in, but I'd imagine that you have a lot more opportunity to put time in between activities. Is there coping? Or do you just "give up" after a while and just keep going? I mean... travel Yahtzee! can only go so far...

Also... have you ever reached the point where experiencing new things itself has become the norm and thus lost a bit of its edge? How do you keep things fresh with the fatigue of lengthy travel?gordopjnkshttp://openid.aol.com/gordopjnksnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5832880021295749887.post-20122066163925229052008-08-03T23:15:45.789-07:002008-08-03T23:15:45.789-07:00My internet is too slow to post comments. My internet is too slow to post comments.gordopjnkshttp://openid.aol.com/gordopjnksnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5832880021295749887.post-66740763499011260712008-08-03T16:32:02.383-07:002008-08-03T16:32:02.383-07:00These photos are fantastic!
